Matthew C. Piccolo was born and raised in Utah and served a two-year mission for the LDS church in Southern Italy. He is a policy analyst at the Sutherland Institute, a conservative public policy think tank in Salt Lake City.
In 2007, he was a Charles G. Koch Summer Fellow and an Intern in Business and Economics Studies at the Pacific Research Institute in Sacramento, CA. He has also worked at Family Health International in Arlington, VA and the Heritage Foundation, a public policy think tank in Washington, D.C.
Matthew earned a Master of Public Policy degree from Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA where he was a research assistant, wrote opinion pieces for the Graphic, and was editor-in-chief of Pepperdine Policy Review. He also earned a B.S. in International Finance from Brigham Young University's Marriott School of Management.
Matthew has published articles in Capital Ideas, Capitol Weekly, San Francisco Examiner, San Francisco Business Times, Standard-Examiner, and Salt Lake Tribune.
